After struggling for years with treatment-resistant depression, I had nearly given up hope of finding relief. Traditional medications helped somewhat but never quite enough. When my therapist suggested ketamine therapy, I was hesitant but desperate for something different.

It is always a scary experience to be vulnerable and ask for help. Having long term depression and PTSD medications were not beneficial for me or they were for short periods of time. I had been researching ketamine and found that the VA has been using ketamine for many years with success. Impressive and attentive staff in a relaxing environment creates a healing space. I was so nervous about my first experience. From the moment I walked in the door, I knew I was in a safe place. My questions were answered, and I was taken care of by some of the most amazing people, some of which have done treatments themselves.

My symptoms of depression, anxiety, and some ADHD tendencies have considerably decreased. What I found most helpful, was being able to sleep better at night and having real dreams. I was really worried my brain would take me to places that I didn’t want to go. What I realized is that my brain already knew those places existed and I was able to process in a healthy way.

I would recommend anyone, regardless of your symptoms or severity of symptoms, to sit down and have a consult with Dr. Howard. You have nothing to lose and taking care of your mind and body is so important.

Everyone is friendly and very patient with their patients. Everything about their facility is beautiful and cozy. All of this made my first experience with them amazing.

I was very new to the idea of ketamine which instilled some fear while making the decision. The care at Relevate completely calmed any nerves I had going into my first infusion. They were kind, caring and compassionate and walked me through every step of what they were doing.

Every person from the receptionist at the front to the nurses and doctor made me feel very comfortable both before and after the infusion. You can tell they care about people and their mission to serve others.

Truly transformative experience! I was interested in trying ketamine therapy to improve my anxiety, brain-fog and lack of mental clarity.

Upon initial consultation with Dr. Schumaker, I felt very comfortable going into this experience. He and the entire team are very friendly and knowledgeable and will answer any questions or concerns you have throughout the process.

The facility is very calm and peaceful, like a tranquil spa, it does not feel “medical” in any way.
You sit in a comfortable reclining chair and have noise cancelling headphones with music tailored to the experience, a blackout eye mask and a heated blanket.

The best way to describe my ketamine sessions is “otherworldly”. After each session, I would have different realizations about life, helping me to process different memories/traumas better. I’ve also noticed improvement in my ability to regulate emotions better and I’ve noticed that I no longer experience a sense of unease/anxiety that I used to feel on a daily basis. I’ve also noticed improvement in executive function, which was another thing I struggled with prior to trying ketamine treatment. I’ve also noticed a “lightness” and newfound joy to life after having completed all of my recommended sessions. I didn’t even realize the heaviness that I was carrying around before.

I am speechless. Came into this journey feeling like it would just be another disappointment or failed attempt to fix my depression and PTSD. It wasn’t a decision I made lightly due to the cost, but figured it would be worth it IF it worked. I did not feel an immediate change, but after my 4th infusion, I began to feel like a dark cloud was lifting off of my shoulders.
